On Tuesday Disneyland filed a proposal to build a new 700 room 4-diamond luxury hotel on 10 acres of the property with a 5,000 spot parking structure at 1401 Disneyland Drive at the north end of the Downtown Disney parking lot. This will make the fourth Disney-Themed Hotel at the resort.
Imagineers said guests will dine in an upscale rooftop restaurant while watching the Disneyland fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle with the nightly rate off about $450 rate. The hotel will have two pools, concierge service, a kids play area and a fitness facility.
With the 14 acre Star Wars land expansion, the park is expected to increase in attendance which is why in nearly 20 years the resort is building a new hotel, in preparation for the guests. In order to receive the four-diamond rating, Disney has to spend the minimum of $225,000 per guest room including $30,000 in furniture, fixtures and equipment.
Although Disney has no theme yet for the hotel, i am quite anxious to see what Disney does with its new hotel. There is a lot of changes happening to Disneyland, but like Walt Disney said “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. It is something that will never be finished. Something that I can keep developing and adding to.”
