Its that time of year again where EVERYDAY will be a new blog!

It may seem like a lot of work BUT its going to be a lot of fun, daily adventures, recipes, christmas movies, christmas shows, runDisney and so much more! So grab those pups, and Disney pj’s because we are going to have a lot to talk about!

20 Years of Holiday Magic!

Its A Small World is one of the most iconic Disneyland rides of all time, where everyone knows the words and everyone knows its a song that will stick with you FOREVER!

Well Its A Small World is celebrating 20 years of holiday magic! 50,000 lights on the façade  and an additional 350,000 mini lights for the trees, hedges and topiaries around the attraction, thousands of lights of surrounding the attraction which brings the total of lights around and on Its A Small World more than 400,000 to bring the ambiance to life!

Every quarter hour after dark there is a 3D projection show that happens right on the attraction itself, revealing the magic behind the whimsical clock. Along with hundreds of bubbles and nearly 150 candles decorating the Christmas tree in the European scene

Now we can’t forget the 14 ft tall snowman that stands on a 10 foot wide snowflake that was brought to the attraction back in 2011.

All this extra Disney magic takes 35 days to install and nearly 18 days to decorate so put away those phones and take in the Holiday magic that Disney has to offer because it is breathtaking!

I have recently talked about getting a camera set up in my room to spy on my pups. The first camera i got was terrible and never worked, BUT i spend a little extra money to get the Petcube and it was 100% completely worth it!

I have only had it a 24 hours and its already blowing my mind. It never kicks me off and the quality is amazing! I can take pictures, record, talk to the pups or listen in on whats going on in the house.

The coolest thing i think is definitely the  notifications, whenever there is motion or a sound it lets me know and i love it. Its very helpful and keeps me updated on whats going on in the house while I’m away.

They have another feature called ‘sharing’ where you can share with the family, friends and public. I have mine set to public but i turned off all the features because my pups literally lay there and do nothing and thats what i want them to do until i get home.

Honestly, i LOVE this product and i definitely would love to buy another one because they work very well and really cute, they dont look like a camera either unless you look very closely than you can see the camera and the laser. I suggest if you are looking for a pet cam to definitely get this one. The set up was easy and fast it was definitely under a 5 minutes. Do you have a pet cube? Let me know in the comments!

My Disneyland Candy Cane Experience!

Its a Disneyland tradition to make their famous candy canes every holiday season, but if you have never heard about them be sure to check out the  Candy Cane History to read the magic behind them!

Now the tradition only happens on select days and the first day of the candy cane making was Friday Nov. 25 and the second day Saturday, Nov. 26. I had two amazing experiences both days but also completely different as well.

Day 1:

Friday November 25, 2016

Candy canes were for sale at Candy Palace in Disneyland and i got into the park about 8:40am 40 minutes after the park has opened. I immediately saw cast members outside the Candy Palace holding wristbands, there was only one person in front of me, so i didn’t have to wait.

My return time to pick up the candy cane was 10:30am so as I rode some rides and walked around the park until i picked up the candy cane, which someone was checking wristbands and letting the cashier know the amount ( 1 per guest, but there were 3 in my family) and than took our wristbands in exchange for the candy canes.

Day 2:

Saturday November 26, 2016

Over in Disney California Adventure it was Trolley Treats turn to make the candy canes and i decided to get to the parks before park opening. So i arrived at 7:15 and the gate opened at 7:30 and everyone rushed over to Trolley Treats and i was about 10th in line to get a wristband but there was so many people behind me.

The line was still moving really fast and when i got to get my wristband they asked if i wanted it now or pick up later, and i was like now please, then waited in a line to get the get the candy cane itself which took maybe a minute two at the most and after shopping and picking up gifts for my cousin we got out of the park at 7:55 am.

Overall the experience was MAGICAL and both times the candy canes were still warm and it was just an amazing experience. The cast members were crazy and i loved it they were just extra magical and made the experience amazing!

So if you are in the parks any of the days they are making candy canes i suggest getting one and don’t let the price scare you because they are worth every penny! Will you be making a special stop to get a Disneyland Candy Cane? Or have you gotten one already? If so what was your experience like? Let me know in the comments below!

Road Trip Tips: Pup Edition.

The pups and I go on a road trip every other month to the Happiest Place on Earth. Its about a 6 hour drive from where we live, so its a pretty decent time to be in the car. Ive been asked multiple times how the pups do while we travel and what is my routine, tips and tricks that I do so here it is.

Talk To The Vet:

I like to make sure that the pups are in good health before we leave, meaning all there vaccinations are up to date and getting a copy of their medical record along with a copy of their vaccinations.  This is great to have especially if you are boarding, kenneling or putting your pup in doggy fay care.

My pups go to the Disneyland kennel while I’m in the parks so they need proof of Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordetella.

Local Vet:

Before leaving i make sure I have the number and address to a 24/7 vet in my phone along with a normal hour vet info because you just never know whats going to happen. I do this so if there is an emergency, I can just get into the car and drive rather than trying to find the info and in panic mode.

Plan Your Route:

On your  way to your destination you should be considerate to your pups, so plan a route that has a dog parks, or a dog friendly area so you can stop and let them run around and go to the bathroom. Especially on long trips its best to stop every 4 hours for about 15-30 minutes, it’ll help make the trip more enjoyable for you and your pup.

I have a spot where we stop it has a large grass area that we run and go to the bathroom, there is also a gas station right there so it works out perfectly so i can fill the tank up and its all together a win all around.

Weather Report:

This is great to keep into consideration while you are packing for your pup. It lets me know if I should packing the heating pad or the cooling pay or their raincoats and sweaters or just bows and bowties or if i should pack the sunscreen or not. This helps so you dont over pack and a little more prepared.

DoubleTree by Metropolitan is a pet-friendly hotel!

Pet Friendly Accommodations:

Before booking a hotel, its best to call and make sure you know their pet policies such as breed restrictions, rules and possible fees so your not shocked when you get to your destination.

The pups and I stay at the same hotel every time we go, because its a super pet friendly hotel. NO extra charge for my pups, no restrictions which calls for a very worry free vacation.

Puppy sitter:

Its best to know your plans with your pup before you leave for your trip. Whether you are going to leave them with family, friends, board, kennel or dog day care make sure you know their arrangements.

My pups go into the Disneyland Kennel, which is located at the front of the park which is convenient because I go and check on them all the time and as much as I would like and i can take them for walks whenever I want as many times as I would like.

Crate Your Dog:

This is one of the safest way for you to travel with your pup, but it doesn’t mean any crate make sure its a safety certified, crash tested crate. This will also provide a comfortable place thats also safe and familiar place for your pup to sleep in.

Dog Bag:

Packing your pups own bag will make it easier of you to access their things a lot easier. This is what I pack for my pups:

  • Food and Food bowl
  • Water and water bowl
  • Leash and Collar
  • Toys and Travel Kennel
  • Sweater( Protective clothing)
  • Dog safe sunscreen
  • Heating or cooling pad
  • Blankie (That has my scent on it)
  • Comb and rubber bands
  • Poop bags and Pee pads
  • Nutri-Cal (I never leave without it)

Puppy ID:

My pups have an ID tag that I take with us in their bag, its simple standard tag that has their name, my name and phone number. Before leaving on a trip its best to make sure all the info on the ID is all up to date and make sure if its not have a new one made before you go.

Prep Your Pup:

This may sound pretty silly but trust me this makes the car ride twenty times easier. If your pup gets car sick be sure to feed them before you a few hours before you start your journey in the car.

If you pup gets anxious in a car try going for a long walk/run. Thankfully my pups do really well in a car but I like to do a 4 mile hike because its great to get them moving and get the extra energy out before sitting in a car for a long time. This also helps them go to the bathroom before our journey.

Even though we are on vacation I try to stick to our home routine as best as possible this helps my pups to have familiarity so they don’t act up. One thing I do change a bit is our walk, I like to add a walk and add a little more distance to our walk. This helps them get rid of extra excitement and anxiety on the trip.

Keeping A Calm Pup:

A long with a long walk it helps when I bring the pups favorite blankie and toys, because its something familiar and comforting to them. This may sound weird but I like to sleep with their favorite blanket and toy a week prior to our trip so when they are in the kennel with their favorite blanket and toy they can smell me on it.

Entering The Hotel:

This may sound really weird but my pups are not allowed to wonder around the hotel room. This is just like at home, they have set rules, boundaries and limitations. They wait until I initiate the activity. This helps me keep my pups balanced and calm on our trips along with in our home.

This is what I like to do with my pups, I love having my pups with me because they make me happy and for me a more enjoyable vacation. Have you traveled with your pups before? Let me know in the comments below.

This Week In Disney!

This week in Disney is CRAZY!!! There is so much going on. Mickeys Birthday, opening of PizzaRizzo’s, Tree Trail, runDisney Paris, Moana name change and so much more! So let dig into the Magic!!

To start us off this week is the big cheese Mickey Mouse, Happy 88th Birthday Mickey! Of course he’s been traveling non stop in his birthday month BUT the fun doest stop there, the parks will be singing happy birthday to our pal Mickey, so will you be in a park to celebrate?

Today is the OFFICIAL opening of PizzaRizzo in Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so be sure to check out his restaurant and of course be sure to check it out! Along with their regular menu you they will have an Allergy Friendly such as gluten free, vegan free and dairy free options. Oh and remember “clean it up! Your ma don’t work here!”

Tree Trail opened Nov. 11, and will stay open until Jan. 8 2017. The trees are amazing and if you are thinking about going to check them out i highly encourage you to go and check it out plus you can tell the big guy what you would like this Christmas! My favorite tree was definitely the villains tree.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Made its debut Nov 14 in Hollywood Studios in Florida. Its the new show that replace the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. The show stars many favorites including like Wayne and Lanny From “Prep & Landing” which projects animation onto the Chinese Theater. I personally thought the show was so cute and Disney of course did a great job with it but no matter what Osborne Family Lights will always have a place in my heart!

Under The Stars: Moana This is taking place in the Polynesian Resort Sunday Nov. 20th, I’m kind of bummed that i won’t be able to go because i think the Polynesian Resort is a perfect spot to watch this fierce princess. Are you going??

The Wonderful World Of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration hosted by the lovely siblings Derek and Julianne Hough have recently taped the thanksgiving parade and it will soon hit on ABC Nov. 24 from 8-10pm ET.

Disney Springs Smtarbright Holidays-An Intel Collaboration will be making its debut Sunday Nov. 20 at 7:00 pm and another showing at 8:30 pm. Guests will watch as 300 show drones light up the night sky while guests listen to classic holiday music which was recorded by a full orchestra. Personally i think its going to be a pretty cool show!

Over in DCA Princess Elena of Avalor has arrived along with all the festivities such as the festive foods in the marketplace kiosks, Festival Entertainment, Disney Viva Navidad, Princess Elena’s Grand Arrival and of course Santa’s Holiday Visit.

Moana name change? Its been rumored that when Disney releases Moana in Italy they will be changing the films name to Oceania.

As for runDisney Paris there are only three more days to sign up to run in Disneyland Paris so be sure to get those computers and credit cards ready because the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon weekend is a lot of fun.

There was a ton of Disney happening this week? What is your favorite??? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse!

Its Mickey’s birthday!!

The main mouse turned 88 years old today and what better way to celebrate such a birthday than traveling all around the world making new friends? BUT the Mickey is still doing some traveling for some special events happening in the Disney Parks!

Did you know that the script for the very first short that Mickey was originally featured in “Plane Crazy” was done while Walt was traveling on a train from Chicago.

The characteristic movements of the mouse were inspired by Charlie Chaplin.

Mickey’s shorts were originally silent, but Mickey debut his voice in the 1929 cartoon short ” The Carnival Kid”

His famous white gloves made their debut in the 1929  short “The Opry House”

January 1930 was the very first Mickey Mouse comic strip appeared in 40 different newspapers.

Mickey Mouse was named by Walt’s wife Lilian. Mickey Rooney claims that Mickey Mouse was in fact named after himself who met Disney in the 1920’s as a child.

Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse thank you for continuously putting smiles on my face and making magic happen wherever you are! Have a great 88th birthday! How are you celebrating this Mouse’s birthday? Let me know in the comments below!
