Perfect Paws: American English Coonhound

The American English Coonhound prefers to be in a pack and generally gets along with other dogs. These pups are agile, they posses great endurance and have a unique ability to climb trees.

In 2012 the American English Coonhound made its first appearance at the Westminster Kennel Club. The breed has been assigned to the hound group designation. They have been recorded in the foundation stock services since 1995.

The breed has loud howls, the breed can be an excellent watchdog but can be a bit too friendly to perform as well as a watchdog. A poll in 2012 rated the America English Coonhound among the top  12 most “talkative” breeds.

They rated 100% child friendly, 92% friendly with other pets, 87% voted they were pretty eddy to train and 73% said they don’t do well alone. Can you see the American English Coonhound being apart of your family? Why or why not? Let me know in the comments below.
