DOGtober 2017: Day 3

Nothing screams Halloween like a pumpkin does! Did you know that pumpkin is actually really good for your pup?

Pumpkins are full of antioxidants, they can soothe an upset tummy, balance out diabetes, provides minerals, can help with digestive issues and is full of fibers! They are a source of antioxidants, including vitamin  A and beta-carotene.  The antioxidants have a greater impact on pups who are still developing their immune system. They also maintain good vision, healthy skin, and a robust immune system. Cooked pumpkin is great to help those upset tummies.

Cooked pumpkin is great to help those upset tummies. Adding pumpkin to your pups daily diet, it keeps things moving because fibers absorb water it normalizes your pups digestive system. It also keeps your pups from eating grass. Pumpkin also contains potassium, iron, copper, calcium, all essentials for good health including strong teeth, helping oxygen transport in the blood and boosting their immune system.


Although it may not be a miracle cure for every ailment, pumpkins also increase glucose tolerance, insulin resistance and its great for their pancreas! Overall, pumpkin is really good for those fur babies which is why I love coming up with new recipes that include pumpkin for my pups! Which I will be sharing my faves during 13 Nights of Howl-O-Ween, which will start Oct. 19.
