Christmas In San Francisco!

One thing I love about San Francisco is not only is it the BEST CITY EVER (100% being biased) but it has A LOT of fun Holiday events. So…here are my top 7 favorite Holiday Events in SF!

  • Great Dickens Christmas Fair

Admission is $30 for Adults (13+), $14 for children (5-12) and Free for 5 and under. This one is pretty pricey but if you love Christmas and want to feel like you are in an old Christmas movie this is worth EVERY penny! It offers Holiday shops, seven stages f entertainment, costumed carolers, pubs and tearooms built to look like old England. It’s MAGICAL and breathtaking!

  • Santa Run December 9, 2018, at Crissy Field

Since I only runDisney I have yet to do this run BUT it is so much fun to watch all the participants dressed up as Santa running a 5k. If you do sign up for this race you get a Santa suit and a commemorative holiday medal! You can also sign up for the Rudolph 1 miler. You also can purchase the ugly sweater race shirt.

  • Ice Skating in Union Square

$18 for adults $13 for children. This is definitely a tradition in my family. We go the weekend of Christmas and skate, drink hot cocoa, and we used to sneak into one of the hotels to use the elevator and look over  Union Square but you need a room key to access the elevator so we go to the Cheesecake factory and ask for a table outside. It’s a lot of fun skating around with cousins and sometimes the brave aunts laughing at whoever falls or placing bets who will fall first.

  • Tree Lighting Show at Pier 39

This one is free of cost and A LOT of fun! Pier 39 has nightly tree lighting show synchronized to holiday music on the top of every hour starting at 5pm to 10pm every night. If you are a puppy lover like I am this is one where your fur babies can join in the fun! I do have to warn you to bring lots of layers because the Bay is cold especially at night and since my littles are small in a pretty crowded area at night I usually have them in my arms.

  • Winter Walk

Admission is free for this “Winter Walk” through Union Square. There are performances, entertainments, family friendly activities, food trucks, beer, and wine gardens, craft holiday cocktails and of course great photo opportunities for the family!

  • Presidio’s Traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday, December 7, 2018 admission is free but registration is appreciated. You can get a more intimate tree lighting ceremony that will bring tears to your eyes. This will also include light refreshments, some caroling, and a lantern-lit evening forest walk which I absolutely LOVE! It’s definitely my favorite part.

  • Lighted Boat Parade

Friday, December 14, 2018, from 6pm -8pm you can watch the oldest and largest lighted boat parade on the San Francisco Bay. The parade will start at Pier 39 and goes west past Fishermans Wharf, Fort Mason and the St. Francis Yacht Club. This is pretty cool because it reminds me of The Main Street Electrical Parade but on water and not Disney.

I love, love, love the Holidays and I know a lot of people travel during the Holidays so if you ever find yourself in SF around the Holidays I highly suggest checking these out, I promise you won’t regret it…unless you drive because it’ll be packed.
