Dia de los Muertos and Coco Celebration!

Starting September 7 – November 2, 2018 Dia de los Muertos will begin at Disneyland and DCA along with the celebration of Coco at Plaza de Familia which will be taking over Paradise Garden’s and have lots of fun activities. There will be a memory wall where you can get amazing pictures at arbol de la vida (tree of life), or even make a mask creating your very own alejibre. There is also a new show that will be playing several times a day telling the story of Miguel’s journey. Yes, Miguel will be making his debut in the parks this year so what better way to make his debut then giving him a show all about him!

Over at Frontierland (Disneyland) you can that it will be transformed with the Zocalo Parks featuring marigolds and papel picado throughout. Guests can also find traditional ofrendas, calaveras (sugar skulls) and an iconic figure of La Catrina to make the area a bit more magical.

Rancho del Zocalo will be serving some traditional Mexican foods and I’m really hoping they will bring back the coco mug for the season. What are you most looking forward too?

Halloween In The Parks!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Halloween in the parks! My all time favorite season in the parks, so if you are a fan of Halloween here is what you can look forward to in Disneyland/DCA, WDW, Hong Kong, and Paris!

Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will be decked out for Halloween. The Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket will make its return with a bit of an updated look. I was lucky enough to get the bucket last year so I don’t think I will be getting one this year UNLESS my BC wants one then I will of course try and get her one.

The poison apple stein will also make its return to the park, but with an update as well instead of it being red its going to be green. I unfortunately have been trying to get the original poison apple stein for years now and have not succeed so I will attempt to get the green one hopefully I have better luck with this one.

Another thing coming to the parks is the brand new  premium popcorn bucket. So get ready to brew some potions because this cauldron premium popcorn bucket is not only the cutest BUT it lights up! This one I have to have, this is LIFE for me. So wish me luck!

Hong Kong Disneyland:

Now if you are planning on visiting Hong Kong Disneyland from September 13th to October 31st, 2018 you are in for a spooktacular treat. Jack Skelington and his friends will be turning the park upside down allowing guests to visit their hometown of Halloween Town where you can also visit Dr. Finklestein’s lab where he kept Sally captive. Make sure to keep an eye open for Oogie Boogie, because he might just sneak up behind you!

Disneyland Paris:

Starting October 1st, 2018 guests visiting Disneyland Paris can enjoy not only halloween BUT help Mickey celebrate his 90th birthday. October 1- November 4, 2018 you can celebrate the Halloween season with it’s brand new parade float featuring Mickey who will disappear and re-appear wearing three different costumes. For Mickey’s 90th birthday you can catch the celebration from October 1 all the way through the Christmas season.

There are so many things I want to see especially at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland but this year I will only be attending the OG Disneyland which I am thankful for. What park would you like to visit during the Halloween season?

Haunted Mansions 49th Anniversary!!

On this day August 9th, 1969 The Haunted Mansion first debut at the Disneyland Resort. The outside of the attraction was completed six years before it opened. The Organ that you see in the ballroom is from the 1954 live-action film 20,000 leagues under the sea. The voice of Madame Leota was performed by Eleanor Audley who also voiced Maleficent and Lady Tremaine.

The Hatbox Ghost originally appeared when the Mansion first opened but was taken out due to the fact that sometimes had two heads, and not upholding . the Disney magic. Hatty made is comeback debut back into the attraction for Disneyland Resorts 60th anniversary in 2015.

Since 2001 Jack Skellington has taken over the attraction every Christmas as part of Haunted Mansion Holiday. Someone purchased a personalized tombstone inside the Mansion in 2004 spending $37,400. Happy Birthday Haunted Mansion and of course all 999 ghosts that live there!

Bing Bongs Sweet Stuff!

Bing Bong Sweet Stuff will open later this summer on Disney California Adventure’s Pixar Pier. It will have colorful merchandise and of course a confectionery location. There will be salt water taffy, rainbow cotton candy and of course of other magical sweet treats to try! The “Buddy” cake pops will be offered at Bing Bongs Sweet stuff, the characters will change every so often and feature new characters like WALL-E and Eve, Nemo and Dory, Buzz and Woody and some inspired by “Inside Out”. which will feature the one and only emotions.

We will also get a fun selection of candy apples! Like the Rainbow Unicorn or the Bing Bong Apple. If you are unfamiliar with the magic of a Disney apple here is the rundown, its a granny smith apple dipped in caramel and chocolate carefully decorated with sugar, fondant and marshmallows crafted perfectly for guests with a major sweet tooth! You can also find other Pixar themed popcorn, lollipops and candies which will lemon drops, red licorice and sour apple balls. The salt water taffy can be found in an assortment of flavors like strawberry banana, peaches and cream, rainbow cotton candy, blue raspberry and orange.

After ALL those sweets what better way to wash down all those magical sweet treats then with a memory refresher! A frozen drink in all colors and flavors like: Rainbow Unicorn that has grape soda, blue raspberry soda, lime cherry, limon-lime, and rainbow candies. Of course to honor of our favorite imaginary friend Bing Bong he gets a special sugary drink will consist of pink lemonade with grape soda, topped with rainbow cotton candy and a flower marshmallow flower! It’s perfection and I can’t wait to try it out. What treats are you most looking forward to trying at Bing Bongs Sweet Stuff?

Disney After Dark: Star War Nite #2?

Yesterday, Disney announced that due to high demand of the DAD: Star Wars Nite will have a second night of galactic fun. Yes, so May 9, 2018 will be the second night of celebration. Tickets for this event will go on sale May 1, 2018. My only concern with this is I have heard that the first night (May 3) will have a lot less than the second night (May 9). May the 9th night will have a solo pin, more character and more photo opportunities, supposedly. These could just be rumors but it would be terrible for all the people who did purchase the first night but awesome for the ones who get the second night.

Hopefully, Disney knows what they are doing because either way they are going to get a lot of complaints. If you bought for the first night do you think its fair Disney put out a second night? If you are planning buying for the second night do you think it’s going to be better than the first night? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

My Disneyland Candy Cane Experience!

Its a Disneyland tradition to make their famous candy canes every holiday season, but if you have never heard about them be sure to check out the  Candy Cane History to read the magic behind them!

Now the tradition only happens on select days and the first day of the candy cane making was Friday Nov. 25 and the second day Saturday, Nov. 26. I had two amazing experiences both days but also completely different as well.

Day 1:

Friday November 25, 2016

Candy canes were for sale at Candy Palace in Disneyland and i got into the park about 8:40am 40 minutes after the park has opened. I immediately saw cast members outside the Candy Palace holding wristbands, there was only one person in front of me, so i didn’t have to wait.

My return time to pick up the candy cane was 10:30am so as I rode some rides and walked around the park until i picked up the candy cane, which someone was checking wristbands and letting the cashier know the amount ( 1 per guest, but there were 3 in my family) and than took our wristbands in exchange for the candy canes.

Day 2:

Saturday November 26, 2016

Over in Disney California Adventure it was Trolley Treats turn to make the candy canes and i decided to get to the parks before park opening. So i arrived at 7:15 and the gate opened at 7:30 and everyone rushed over to Trolley Treats and i was about 10th in line to get a wristband but there was so many people behind me.

The line was still moving really fast and when i got to get my wristband they asked if i wanted it now or pick up later, and i was like now please, then waited in a line to get the get the candy cane itself which took maybe a minute two at the most and after shopping and picking up gifts for my cousin we got out of the park at 7:55 am.

Overall the experience was MAGICAL and both times the candy canes were still warm and it was just an amazing experience. The cast members were crazy and i loved it they were just extra magical and made the experience amazing!

So if you are in the parks any of the days they are making candy canes i suggest getting one and don’t let the price scare you because they are worth every penny! Will you be making a special stop to get a Disneyland Candy Cane? Or have you gotten one already? If so what was your experience like? Let me know in the comments below!
