Blogmas Day 12/25: Puppy Traditions

Every December for the past 4 years the pups and I go on our special night walk every Friday.

It may seem a little weird, but there are so many blocks of houses that go full out Christmas and its our tradition to visit a new neighborhood every Friday night in December where we walk around looking at all the Christmas decorations.

This is one of my favorite memories during the holiday season and its something i look forward to every single year. Do you have a puppy tradition with your furry friends? Let me know in the comments below!

Barking News!

If you are a puppy owner I’m sure you are no stranger to the Dog Whisperer, Cesar 911 also known as Cesar Millan.

Cesar and his son Andre are going on a road trip across the country looking for people and their pups in certain cities (Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington D.C, St. Louis, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles) who have a quirk or odd behavior.

I am a HUGE fan of Cesar and all his work, I know to each there own BUT Cesar works for me because he has an AWESOME pack and he’s an amazing pack leader and I can only dream of being the kind of pack leader he is. So to help my pups I know I have to help myself first which is why if you are interested like me be sure to fill out an application if you are in on of the cities him and his son will be visiting! Good luck pups!

Puppy Stroller or Sling?

The most common pet cartieries use to be the traditional bulky kennels BUT now it’s common to have a stroller or a sling. I see them everywhere, on walks, at the vets, at the stores…everywhere!

Each one has its pros and its cons ultimately I think it should base on if its the right fit for you and your pups. So some of the things you should consider:

  • Is it comfortable fo your pup?
  • Is it comfortable for you?
  • Can you use the carrier by yourself?
  • Can you see yourself using it?

Personally the sling is a lot easier for the pups and I. It’s lightweight, comfortable I use it all the time, the pups love being in it and I love that they are right in my reach so I can pet them whenever. The pups and I prefer it over a stroller, but that is just us.

So my question for you is what one do you and yor pups prefer or use and why? Let me know in comments below!

What’s In My Purse: Puppy Edition

I think I may be completely obsessed with my pups…Everytime the pups and I go on an outing or when they come to work with me I always pack my purse/bag with my puppy necessities…so without further ado here is what’s in my purse!

*i like to use the pop up water bowls because they save a lot of space.

*i personally think this is a puppy necessity so no matter what there are treats everywhere! I like using old Tic Tac containers because it’s very portable, easy to fill and comes in handy.

*again it’s a necessity so for me, I can’t walk away from my pups poop, so these come in handy and I find the bags EVERYWHERE!

*i personally like having wipes with me incase things get messy they are an easy fix until we get home.

*normally carry the pups little bear toy, but the toy varies occasionally.

*a necessity no matter if you have a pup or not, but I do keep there dog tags and ID in my wallet at all times. Yes my dogs have an ID.

Let me know what you keep in your purse or bag for your pup! I’d love to hear what things you bring because I might have to start bringing it!

I get asked about Nutri Cal a lot, especially on trips or in the vets. So i will explain what it is, when i use it and and how i heard about it.

A gel that supplies your pet with extra calories when they need it. Its made up of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats along with many essential vitamins and minerals. Its used for stressed or debilitated dogs, illness, surgery or whelping, aging animals or picky eaters.

I make sure i am always in stock with this stuff. I like to use it when we go to the vets, especially when they have to get their shots, when we go on long road trips, or when we go on long walks and hikes(4+ miles). I make sure their sugar stays up. Plus they really do enjoy it when they get it.

The breeder i got my pups from suggested it to me, than i talked to my vet and they said it was great for the dogs in the situations i used above. I honestly did a lot of research with it before i got my pups as well.

You can find these pretty much everywhere, Amazon, your vet, pet stores.I hope this helps because i do have it on hand all the time even though i dont give it to them everyday, and my pups are never in stressful situations BUT  like i said it helps to have it on hand just incase. Let me know if you have used it or have ever heard of Nutri Cal, because not many people have.
