DOGtober 2018: Day 9

Saturday October 27, 2018 marks the 28th anniversary of the Pet Parade at Potrero Hill in San Francisco Ca. The Parade started at Farley’s coffee 1315 18th Street at 1pm. There is a costume contest that will immediately follow the parade. There will also be trophies for the winners and pet treats for everyone who takes part of the activities. This is one of our favorite parades because we walk right past my cousins house and my BC (baby cousin) who gets a kick every time the pups and I walk by because she loves my littles just as much as I do. So if you are ever in the San Francisco area during this time I highly suggest you check out this puppy parade! Its a lot of fun to be a part of and a lot of fun to speculate!

The Winchester Mystery House: Day 1

The Winchester Mystery House is an architecture mystery and a historic landmark in San Jose Ca. Sarah Lockwood Pardee Winchester, the widow of William Wirt Winchester repeating arms fortune. The Winchesters had a tragedy as their infant daughter passed away from a childhood illness. Years later Sarah’s husband passed away from Tuberculosis. Shortly after Williams death, Sarah moved from New Haven Ct. to San Jose Ca where she bought an eight-bedroom farmhouse and began the worlds largest renovation only to stop with Sarah’s death Sept. 5, 1922.

Sarah built the mansion so the spirits of people who passed from the Winchester rifle would get lost and not find her. It currently has 24,000 square ft, 10,000 windows, 2,00 doors, 160 rooms, 52 skylights, 47 stairways and fireplaces, 17 chimneys, 13 bathrooms, and 6 kitchens. 13 Nights of Halloween: Haunted Mansion

It wouldn’t be Halloween without some spooky facts about The Haunted Mansion, so here we go!

  1. The Haunted Mansion is the only attraction located in four different lands in four different Disney parks: New Orleans Square at Disneyland, Liberty Square at Walt Disney World, Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland and Frontierland at Disneyland Paris.
  2. Disney legend Claude Coats briefly developed a water version of the Haunted Mansion which guests would float through the ruins of an old plantation house, partially submerged in a Louisiana Bayou.
  3. Imagineers produced the audio-animatronics figures, props and set pieces for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World versions of the Haunted Mansion at the same time, knowing that the Florida attraction would open less than two years after its Anaheim predecessor.
  4. The Ghost Host was originally supposed to take the form of a crow, which was tossed out but you can still find the crow throughout the ride (Disneyland). Paul Frees, the voice of the Ghost Host also provided the voices for Ludwig von Drake, Boris Dadonov, the Pillsbury Doughboy and many of the POTC including the infamous auctioneer.
  5. The infamous mansion wallpaper was created by Imagineer Marc Davis. It was a collaboration between “Museum of the Weird” creator Rolly Crump and Claude Coats.

What is your favorite part about the Haunted Mansion? mine would have to be Haunted Mansion Holiday, it’s my favorite time to ride this amazing and spooky attraction!

13 Nights of Halloween: Disneyland Haul

This trip was well needed. Although it was a quick trip, it felt so long, magical and perfect! The only thing I wanted to do was spend all of my money and ride Haunted Mansion Holiday which I did. So here is everything I bought! I was so excited to get the glow cubes and nearly had a heart attack from the poison apple glow cube because EVERYONE  said it they ran out thankfully the Mint Julep bar and the Red Rose Tavern had some and I was able to collect it!

Aside from the clothes above, I also bought a t-shirt from Mickey’s Halloween Party 2017 and a hat that says ‘Ghost Host’ on the front, and I adore them so much I had them both on and forgot to take a picture of them…What are some things you like collecting when you visit the parks? Let me know in the comments below!

13 Nights of Halloween: Disneyland?!

It’s time to hang up my adulting jacket and trade it in for my AP, which has been sitting nicely in my wallet collecting cobwebs.  If you haven’t guessed it, I booked a last minute trip to the one and only happiest place on earth Disneyland! All this school and homework is slowly nipping away at me, so why not pull out the old AP and take a spontaneous trip to Disneyland…it’s reasonable! So here are my top 5 things I can’t wait to get my hands on or do when I get there!

1.Glow Things

I am obsessed with glowy stuff, so I can’t wait to get a cars jack-o-lantern, the headless horseman straw clip, and the poison apple!

2.Buckets, Pins, and Steins! Oh MY!

Oogie Boogie is one of my favorite characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas so I am going to try and get his popcorn bucket. I also would love to pick up some Halloween party pin of the headless horseman and some Nightmare before Christmas surprise packs. I would also love to bring home the poison apple stein because I have been wanting it for years!

I want to get my hands on some Halloween park merch, so some t-shirts. Also even though it’s not Christmas I really want one of the Christmas shirts they just released because I fell in love.

You cant go to Disneyland without a long list of holiday foods to try and even though I am not feeling the best, Disney food is magical! I would like to get the Mummy Maccarone, CARacchnoid pot pie, dreamsicle beignets, slow burnin’ mac and cheese, and green apple spell lemonade boba.

Holiday overlay rides for me are a must, so I’m looking forward to Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, and of course GOTG: Monsters After Dark!

What is your favorite Holiday thing to do at the parks? Let me know in the comments below!

13 Nights of Halloween: Halloween DCOM’S

So I talked about my favorite Halloween Disney Movies, but now it’s an entirely different ballpark because it’s all about the Halloween Disney Channel Original Movies!

1. Halloweentown

This 1998 DCOM classic is and will ALWAYS be my top DCOM to watch. The film is about a girl finding out she is a witch and saves her town of creatures. It also stars the ever so amazing Debbie Reynolds.

2. Mom’s Got A Date With A Vampire

This 2000 DCOM is about these siblings who have gotten their hands on a headless horseman concert,  unfortunately, both are grounded and will do anything to go even setting their mom up on a date with a mysterious man who may be a vampire!

3. Under Wraps

This DCOM came out today, Oct. 25, 1997, three twelve-year-olds encounter a 3,000-year-old mummy who they accidentally set free. If they don’t get him back to his resting place at midnight on Halloween he will turn into dust, losing his only opportunity to reunite with his lost love.

4. Don’t Look Under The Bed

October 9, 1999, film is about a teen who seeks help from an imaginary friend to stop the Boogyman from getting her in trouble from all the pranks he is pulling and framing her.

5. Now You See It

Starring Alyson Michalka (Phil of the Future) the film is a young producer in search for the county’s best young magician. This DCOM made its debut Jan. 14, 2005

There is so much more Halloween DCOM’S that I love to watch every Halloween but these are the ones that are a must watch at least twice every day! What is your top 5 DCOM Halloween list? Let me know in the comments below!
