D-Day THE FINAL Review

My Oh My!

I talked about the concert in my Friendcation post but wanted more, so I am here with an entire post dedicated to the show. Will it be nonsense? Yes. Will I ramble? 100%. Do I need to talk about it? YES! So let’s get started.

Agust D announced he would add three more days from the original tour calling it D-Day THE FINAL. Of course, it was taking place in Seoul (as it should), but three days before the concert? How do you choose just one day? You CAN’T because you knew there would be big names attending to perform in his show. So all three days it was. Go big or go home, right?

Friday, day one of the concert, was going like every show has except Jeon Jungkook, the golden Maknae, who came out to perform Burn It with Suga on stage. After the performance, Suga gave him a high-five hug and walked off the stage, leaving JK the entire stage to perform his solo, Seven. Wow! In the turn of events, JK sang Burn It, his new single, and killed it. He looked and sounded terrific, regardless if he messed up on the words, but he mentioned it on his live. Day one was over. Yoongi walked off the stage without looking back, just like he did with the concerts before this one.

Saturday, day two of the concert, same as day one. Everything was normal, except my friends and I were wondering which member was next. Jimin. Jimin came out on stage to sing Tony Montana with Suga. Army’s dream come true. After the Tony Montana performance, Suga once again left the stage, leaving Jimin to perform Set Me Free Pt.2. He looked stunning and sounded it as well. You noticed more emotion from Suga as he performed the songs during this concert but kept it together well—still, the Min Yoongi we all love. Once again, Yoongi walked off the stage without looking back.

Two more members left, and everyone is now on edge. Each day becomes even more spectacular than the last; one day left and two members left to bring on stage. Sunday, the FINAL day. Who was Yoongi going to bring on stage for the FINAL DAY of his D-Day Tour? Before we talk about there are prior events that need to mentioned. Suga, at one point wanted to thank his brothers. He shouted out j-hope and Jin, the cameras panned over to the audience and you see them both. Smiles plastered on their face and their eyes so bright. They both looked amazing and EVERYONE was shocked. My friends and I yelled which made the tears stream from seeing such a special moment of them supporting him on the last day of the concert. The feels and the emotions were so real.

Now it was time to carry on with the concert. Which member was Suga going to pull on stage next? RM. RM walked out like a boss. Dark shades and confidence erupting off of him. Another scream and cheer escaped us as RM and Suga performed Stranger. Like the other members, Suga walked off the stage, leaving RM to perform a new and untitled/unreleased song he had been working on. WOW! What a treat. We have gotten a new member for each show performing a piece of new music on stage for the first time. The shock was genuine.

From here on out, the emotions on stage from Agust D himself went downhill. The poor guy had the lip quiver, and as much as he tried to hold back and perform his ‘BEST’ performance, this concert was full of raw emotion and talent, and I was a complete mess from then on. I give props to the Army that was there in persona because they sang his songs so loud and clear to show their support for him. While I was sobbing, my eyes were out on the couch, trying to sing along with them. Now we are at the final song. Yoongi will sing the last words from the song and walk off stage without looking back. This is where things changed.

After thanking Army for the love and support, he walked down the aisle towards the back of the stage for the last time for the D-Day Tour. It, however, was not just any door; this is the same door in Amygdala. The one he couldn’t open on one side, and on the other side, he couldn’t make it to the door. That door awaited him at the end of his final walk-off stage. When he got there, he placed his hand on the handle—turned it. Opened it and stepped through. When I tell you I was crying like a baby, I had tears streaming down my face, and my heart was going a mile a minute. He turned around with a genuine smile and a hint of sadness-waved. He then closed the door behind him.

I was an emotional wreck but was so honored to have seen him live and on this final concert day. It was so raw and stunning. Suga is such a wonderful storyteller, and everything just came together. He was able to set himself free of the anger, and not only was that such a touching and vulnerable moment, but he chose to share that with so many people. Later that night, he went on Weverse Live and said it would be a lie to tell us that he would see us soon, but he will see us in 2025. A bit later, Weverse notified him that he had enlisted in the military. It has been such an emotional couple of days, but I know Jin and Hobi will welcome him with open arms, and they will be back. Thank you for sharing such an emotional journey into your personal life. I will be waiting for your return.
