Cousin City Day!

It is that time of the year when all of the cousins go into the city together and play tourist.

First things first is around 10am we met at someones house or met at BART and rode into the city together. Since there was a Starbucks/Petes Coffee right there we purchased our first hot chocolate/coffee.

When we got into the city we got off at Powell Street. We like to get off here because of the Cable Car turn around. Although, we have lived in the city our entire lives we still find the Cable Car turn around so cool. We hung out at the mall for a while before walking up to Union Square. We love going in there and grabbing some treats. Usually a Cheesecake because we get a bunch of different flavors and share.

After wondering around the mall, we made our way to the Ice Rink so we could skate for an hour. This is always fun because I feel like I have the worst balance in the group and I don’t fall. Unless one of the littles takes me down which I don’t think counts.

When our time at the rink is done, we change our shoes grab our second hot chocolate/coffee and hop on the cable car to Ghirardelli Square. Once we get there we make sure to grab a free chocolate square and of course two or three hot chocolates to share because it’s Ghirardelli. After some pictures, we start our journey over to Pier 39. We like to grab some popcorn and doughnuts and take in all the sights and sounds. Usually, the sounds are overpowered by our laughter and yelling over each other but we have a great time together.

My favorite thing we do, is grab real food and sit by the Oracle Park and watch the water and eat. This usually has some slight food fights because someone doesn’t want to hand something to someone but you know, it’s all fun and games. After cleaning up our mess we walk around a bit before getting on BART at the Embarcadero stop.

Once we got back home, we did end the night with a movie. We watched, Candy Cane Lane, ate more popcorn and laid around. It was so much fun and I am blessed to be able to have a close relationship like this with all of my cousins.
