Blogmas 2023: Day 26

Peppermint Mocha Cookies

My chocolate lovers will love these cookies! They are not only chocolate but super gooey as well.

Cookies:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 devils food cake mix box
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar

Frosting:

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp mint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint

Direction:

  • Preheat your oven to 350º and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  • In a bowl combine butter, cream cheese, egg and vanilla and mix it until it is light and fluffy
  • Stir in the dry cake mix until it becomes thick and smooth, don’t be alarmed if it get crumbly at first
  • In a separate bowl, pour your cup of powdered sugar and set it aside
  • Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before scooping a spoon full of cookie dough and rolling it in the sugar
  • Place the sugar coated cookie dough on your lined cookie sheet
  • Bake them for 12 minutes

The cookies are amazing as is, but if you want to make them extra special than add the frosting. If not, leave as is and ENJOY!

Frosting Directions:

  • In a small bowl add all the ingredients except for the peppermints
  • Beat the frosting at medium speed until it becomes light and fluffy
  • Add some to the cookies and for a festive twist sprinkle some crushed peppermint on top

You don’t have to use the peppermint candy, you can also use festive sprinkles for those who don’t like peppermint. They are still festive and delicious. I hope you enjoy these sweet little treats.
