Book Apps I use daily!
Whether you are a physical book reader or an ereader I am sure you use some type of book apps. I thought it would be fun to share the ones that I have been using on a daily. I love reading on iPad Mini. I think a year ago and it is so convenient and light for me. I know what you are thinking, you are going to get distracted because it’s an iPad and you can go on other apps and not read. True, but I deleted all of the other apps. Not because I get distracted but I just wanted a place for ALL bookish things.
Apps:
- Kindle
- Apple Books
- Goodreads
- Galatea
- Webtoon
Kindle:
The Kindle App is. completely free to download but of course, I am bookworm I have to pay for KindleUnlimited. Kindle Unlimited provides subscribers access to over one million titles in the Kindle Store including books, audiobooks, and magazines. You can read anytime on any device with the Kindle app. Membership costs $9.99 a month plus taxes, and you may be eligible for a free trial.
I will say I use this app the most. I try and save the Kindle app for all of my manga and graphic novels but if I can’t find a book on Apple Books, I will download it here.
Apple Books:
It is available for Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. It can be installed free of charge from the iOS App Store. Books app supports EPUB and PDF format and audio books from the Apple Store. Books can be purchased from the Apple Books store for reading in the app.
I avoid downloading manga and graphic novels on here because I like how it looks better on the Kindle App. This is my second most used app and I love it. I keep it in dark mode so my pages are black and the words are white. I have A LOT of series on this app, so majority of my books are condensed together which I love.
Goodreads:
Goodreads is a free service for book tracking, recommendations and reviews.
I love this app to track all of the books that I read, unless I read on the Kindle App, I have to go into the app to say which book I am reading so I usually forget to and end up going back all of the time to update. I like that it tracks but I hate when it says that I am _ books behind.
WEBTOON:
WEBTOON exclusive Original series are free to read, and ongoing series are updated weekly. You can purchase Coins to read the latest episodes before anyone else with Fast Pass. Fast Pass lets you read the latest episodes earlier than the regular release date.
I LOVE THIS APP! I use this a good amount of times but less than the other two due to the fact that I will catch up on a new series and have to wait for them to release the latest episodes, but I love this app so much. There are so many amazing stories and I highly suggest it, especially if you like dramas and or k-pop.
Galatea:
There are entire free books available every day. In addition, a limited number of chapters are free to read in every book. To continue reading beyond the free chapters, there are 2 options: free or paid. You can wait a certain number of hours before unlocking the next chapter at no cost
Galatea has some fun and quick stories. I like to use this app whenever I am in the middle of looking for a new read but I usually go to this when i want something fast to read.
I find myself flying through books on all of these apps and these are the ones I use the most. I have other book apps downloaded (Audible, Barnes and Nobles Nook, Wattpad and Book Of The Month) but they are just there. I will use them every now and again and I do think they are amazing apps but these are my favorite.
What is your favorite book app?
