Declutter!
I am so excited about this. I have been collecting a GIANT pile of pretty much EVERYTHING in one corner of my room/bed and I think this means it is time to declutter and go through all my things.
Benefits of Decluttering:
- Increases concentration and productivity
- Better sleep
- Better mood
- A way to let go of the past
- Reduces Stress and anxiety
- Better for your mental health
I started out with my closet and went through ALL of the clothes and made two piles. Keep and Donate. Once I hung my keep pile up, I moved to my dresser and did the same thing. The donate pile got a lot bigger which was great. I was able to donate five garbage bag filled, and hopefully they will get to a better home.
After my room was done, I moved to the kitchen. I got rid of things that were expired, cleaned out the tupperware that was broken, missing a top or a bottom, or in bad shape. It cleared up a lot of room and I was able to organize more. I cleared off of my table, and the countertops and washed everything. It looks so empty and satisfying.
Seeing everything put away and with space feels so nice and like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I know when I come home from a long day of work and school, seeing my desk clean and ready to work is going to be the best feeling ever.
