Magical Rewind #5

Halloweentown released October17, 1998. Marnie and her kids get a big shock when they follow grandma home to Halloweentown – and find out they come from a family of witches. The town is the only place where supernatural beings can lead a `normal’ life, but trouble is looming, and on her 13th birthday Marnie not only finds she is a witch, but that she and her family are involved in a fight against the evil that is threatening to take over the world.
“Halloween is cool” and “Being normal is vastly overrated” are my favorite lines from this movie. Being the little spooky ghoul I was, this movie was my favorite. It was all about Halloween, and I was one happy ghoul. I wanted a Grandma Aggie and to visit Halloweentown so desperately. It was the most incredible place in the world. I still LOVE this movie and watch it ALL OF THE TIME!!! Although watching this movie as an adult, Marnie acts like a brat a lot of the time. I understand she’s a teenager and wants to go out with her friends, but she throws a fit at the mom. As for the mom, if she would explain to her children why she doesn’t like Halloween instead of keeping them in the dark, there would be fewer problems. I mean, I still don’t fully understand why she doesn’t like Halloween. Do we know who her husband is and where he went? I could be the only one. Nonetheless, I still really enjoyed this movie.
