Blogtober 2024: Day 4

Ghostie in a Bottle!

Ghosts are my inside theme this year and I thought what better way to start off spooky season than making little ghosties in a bottle! They are pretty simple, adorable and fun to pass out. Let’s get started.

What you will need:

  • Jars (the size will be to your preference. I like the smaller ones)
  • Polymer Clay (white and black)
  • Glue (I use a hot glue gun)

If you want to turn your little ghostie into a necklace, you will need:

If you want to make the little ghost into a charm, you will need:

What to do:

  • Preheat your oven to 275º and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside
  • Take as big or small of clay and warm it up in your hands by playing with it.
  • Once your clay is soft enough to mold, start shaping your ghostie friend to your liking.
  • With the black clay, warm it up and add eyes and mouth to your ghostie.
  • Place your ghost on the lined tray and put in the oven. Make sure to check your packaging to see how long you should bake them for.
    • Since mine are smaller, I bake them for 10/15 minutes.
  • Let the clay cool before removing. I add a little glue from the hot glue gun to the bottom of the jar before placing my ghost inside.
  • Once my ghost is inside is secure. Add some glue around the cork of the jar.

Your little ghostie in the jar is complete! It is super simple and so much fun. You can add some grass, pumpkins, leaves, glitters inside the jar with your ghost or leave it empty.

If you want to make it into a necklace or charm, stick your eye pin in a little bit of super glue before placing it in the middle of the cork.

Necklace:

You can slip your necklace chain through the eye pin, or add a jump ring to the eye pin connecting it to the middle of the chian.

Charm:

Connect two or three jump rings to the eye pin and attach either the phone charm lanyard or a clip.

Now you have the cutest and easy little ghostie in a jar. I hope the instructions were clear, I am terrible at explaining things. If you decide to make your own, please send me a message with your creation, either on instagram or here, I would love to see your ghostie pal.

Happy Haunting!
