Blogtober 2024: Day 20

Pumpkin Patch!

Oh my goodness! This year the cousins and I went to the pumpkin patch, our same old pumpkin patch that we have been going to but this year, THIS YEAR, we had a very special guest. We were all in shock with who joined in on the pumpkin patch fun, the one and only Nani! Let me tell you the story.

The cousins and I had picked out pumpkin patch day, we got ready, carpooled and what not and you know the furry friends are at our side. As, I was getting ready, I got a call from my grandma. She asked what I was doing and why I was getting ready to go out. So, I told her the plans and she said that sh wanted to go too. I said, okay let’s go. Normally, at this point she backs out and says she’s just kidding and go have fun BUT SHE WAS SERIOUS!!

I picked her up and we drove together to the pumpkin patch. We picked up the cousins drink order because Nani wanted to buy the grandkids/great grandkids something. I told them all I just parked and that I was going to need help with their drinks, but they were slow, so once my grandma was out and ready walking, I placed all the drinks on her walker. As they came to meet me they started to yell and cheer for her.

Nani, doesn’t go out a lot because she get’s nervous with the outside world, but she ALWAYS has a blast when she is with her billion grandchildren and great grandchildren. Plus, it is a blast for us because we get to spend time with her and listen to her crazy stories about when she was younger and how much things have changed since that time. The laughter and the memories of her being there with us will definitely last a lifetime.

Instead of doing all our craziness that we typically do at the pumpkin patch, we just walked around with her and took pictures to capture the great moments. We did try and do some crazy stuff but she said we were giving her a heart attack and we needed to behave ourselves. She is the cutest when she tells her stories, and listening to all her spooky stories that at the pumpkin patch made them even more memorable. I love her and am so proud of her for conquering her fear of getting out and walking to hang out with all her crazy grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Happy Hauntings!
