Blogmas 2024: Day 6

Polymer Clay Gingerbread Buddies!

My new obsession is clay and what better way to spread the holiday cheer than something homemade. Lets get started!

What you’ll need:

What to do:

  1. Preheat oven to the instructed heat and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set it aside.
  2. Wipe your work surface with rubbing alcohol
  3. Grab your hazelnut clay and roll it out to the thickness and length you would like your gingerbread
  4. Cut out your gingerbread men and place on the lined sheet
  5. Wipe your work surface with rubbing alcohol again so your white stays clean
  6. Soften up the white clay and roll out into a snake. However thick and long depends on how big your gingerbread buddy is
  7. The white will be used for the frosting on the legs, arms and the smile. Add them to your gingerbread man
  8. With the light pink, soften up the clay and make into four same sized ball, slightly flattening them down. These will be used for two gum drop buttons and the blush on the cheeks. Add to your gingerbread man.
  9. Wipe down your surface again and grab your black
  10. With the black make two of the same size balls slightly flattening them. These will be used for the eyes. Add them to your gingerbread man and place in the oven
  11. You should cook your new little gingerbread buddies according to the instruction on the clay that you used. Each clay has different baking instructions

Let them cool before handling and as an option you can glaze them. Depending on how I feel I will leave some as is or glaze them to give them a shiny look. I like to use uv resin because that is a product I already own, but you can also use clay glaze. I hope you enjoy your gingerbread men buddies. I am sure they are the cutest thing in the world!
