Date Night (Day) with Mom and Belle!
This year has been a little bit crazy, my mom has been struggling this Holiday season. Although, she loves this time of year, she is currently going through a divorce with my dad and it’s not a good time. Understandable, they were married for 34 years. So, in order to help lift her spirits, I have decided to take her on a date.
The first thing that we did was, go for a run. Since she loves to run because it clears her head, I thought it would be perfect to start the day with a run. Once we were freshly showered and cleaned up from the run, I surprised her with tickets to go see Wicked. We both have seen the play and read the books that it was just a must. I bought her popcorn and a drink and we enjoyed the movie.
Once the movie was over, we went back home to pick up the little monchhichi, Belle. The next thing I had planned for her was a picnic in the Presidio. We picked up her favorite food, had blankets and of course food for Belle as well. After we ate, we did walk around the area because it was such a nice day even though it was freezing.
The fun of course did not stop there. We had to throw in some Holiday cheer. We headed over to the Pier to walk around some more and pick up some fun treats. We also stopped by a holiday market in Pacifica to check out all the goods. If you are ever in Pacifica around this time, this is such a cute little market and would suggest checkin it out.
To end the night, we grabbed food from her favorite restaurant near by and sat at the beach watching the waves. My mom does A LOT for me and is ALWAYS there when I need her. So making today special and all about her was the least that I could do for her. She is such a strong hard working woman and I hate that she feels like she isn’t good enough.
