The Annual Cousin Gingerbread House Competition 2024!
As you may have guessed I have A LOT of cousins which makes for one crazy fun and competitive time. We had so many people out and about in our house including six extra bodies and a new little one.
Once everyone picked out their houses, we put on How the Grinch Stole Christmas to start us off. We picked our spots in the house and got to work. We were pretty much on top of each other since my porch is completely filled with snow and decoration. It was cute because I had to take a break because kids in my neighborhood came to watch the 7 pm snowfall. Their faces when they see it ALWAYS make my night, but my littles all enjoyed it too, to the point where they gave away some of the snowflakes I had made for my grandma and her friends. Such the spirit of the holidays that literally made my heart grow three sizes.
Anyways, once the snowfall was done, it was competition time and we were all out for blood. This was going to be Nana’s favorite grandchild/great grandchild so everything was on the line. We took about four hours to complete our greatest work to become the #1 loved child in her eyes and well, there were lots of tears (fake ones).
Of course our gingerbread houses are not edible because they are put together with hot clue, but it didn’t stop us from eating the decoration and frostings that go on it.

The winner was actually one of the newer additions with Die Hard. My Cousin has been working on himself and kind of distanced himself from the family to work on him. So when he came to this years competition it was AMAZING and rigged. He came with his girlfriend and her four kids and well, they won the gran prize of the title of Nana’s favorite grandchildren/great grandchildren. I personally thought mine should have won because I did Christmas with the Kranks and smashed my house…but it’s okay, I am happy for him and all the cousins that participated. We actually did not have a food fight this year which was shocking, but nice when I had to clean up.
Did you decorate a gingerbread house this year?
