Blogmas 2024: Day 11

Crocheted Snow Flakes!

You know I had to be crafty, but today’s project is a crochet snowflake!

What you need:

  • Yarn (I used blue and white)
  • 2 mm or 2.5 mm Crochet Hook
  • Ribbon (Optional)

What to do:

  1. Wrap the yarn of your choice around one finger 9x
  2. Single crochet about 17 times
  3. Slip Stitch the first and last loop
  4. Pull Four Loops. Wrap the yarn around go into the center of your circle and pull up four times before pulling all the way through.
  5. Chain 4 and insert your hook into the first stitch. (3x)
  6. Chain 2 and repeat steps 4 through 6.

I like to make the snowflake with 5 to 6 points and occasionally seven when there is room. If I am making it into a bag charm, I will chain at least 20 before finishing it off. If it is an ornament I will add the ribbon, a keychain will get a jump ring and clip. Once you get the hang of them, they will take you less than 5 minutes to make.

I hope you enjoy and let me know what you use them for!
