Page to Screen: Until We Meet Again

I probably should have started with *Until We Meet Again*, as *Between Us* is its companion show/book. I did watch *Until We Meet Again* before *Between Us*, and it’s not that I don’t love this book/show. However, *Between Us* is a bit deeper and more emotional. As much as I adore the characters and this world, it really pulls at the heartstrings. So make sure to check out all of the TW before diving in.

Until We Meet Again (Viki)

In 1980s Thailand, university student Korn, the son of a mafia boss, and his classmate In defy societal norms and family opposition to pursue their love. However, romance isn’t enough to overcome their circumstances, and the young couple eventually take their own lives. Three decades later, university freshman Pharm constantly feels like he’s missing someone he’s never known… until he meets swim team captain Dean, with whom he shares an instant connection. There’s more to this new relationship than meets the eye, as Pharm and Dean realize that their lives are intertwined with Korn and Intouch’s. Can Pharm and Dean break free from the shadows of Korn and In’s past, and finally bring closure to their love story? This 2019 Thai drama series was directed by New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul, adapted from the novel “Red Thread” by Lazysheep.

I of course binge-watched this show in one day because it was so good, but very emotional. I think the actors did a great job portraying the characters and I seriously can’t get enough of this world.

Red Thread (Kindle)

When Dean, the captain of the swimming club, takes the podium during Pharm’s university orientation, something unusual happens. Though the two have never met before, they’re unable to hide the turmoil that suddenly wells up inside them as they can’t help but feel that this isn’t the first time they’ve laid eyes on each other. Perhaps the red thread of fate links them together from their past lives…

I would definitely recommend checking out the trigger warnings for the book, as it contains more detailed content than the show. However, oh my goodness! It is just as impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the characters. Additionally, there is a Mini Read Thread at the end of *Mini Hemp Rope*, which I found delightful as it provides a fresh perspective on both couples. If you enjoy the series and its characters, I suggest reading *Mini Hemp Rope* and the Mini Read Thread because it is the cutest book ever!
