Reading Slump!

What is a reading slump?

A reading slump is a period when an avid reader loses interest in reading, finding it difficult to engage with or enjoy books. It can be a temporary phase characterized by a lack of motivation, inability to concentrate, and a feeling of dissatisfaction with the reading experience.

I am currently in a reading slump, and it is quite annoying. I get these every now and again, and I feel like there are no books/characters that I am connecting to. I read three books, and it wasn’t like the books were bad in any way, but I was not satisfied. Again, I have something very specific that I need to read, but it is not computing that when I choose a book to read.

Typically, in a reading slump, I do one of three things. I take a break and just let the reading slump do its things, or B try and figure out what I want to read, which means flying through a ton of books until I figure it out, or C reread one of my all-time favorite books and indulge in that world for a minute. Right now, I am trying B because I really want to read, but if I can’t figure it out soon, I will reread one of my favorite books.

What do you do when you have a reading slump?
