4th of July Puppy Tips and Tricks 2025

It is that time of year again where we as humans love to have fun BUT our pups may be a bit stressed out. I may sound like a broken record but I truly feel like it is a post that needs to be posted!

  1. Exercise
    • Take your pup on a long walk/run/hike. I personally like to to take a longer walk/hike the morning of because I know how much anxiety they can have during the commotion.
  2. Tags/Microchips
    • If your pups does manage to escape the commotion, make sure that they have their tags on them or have them microchipped. Just in case, because if they have all their information on them.
  3. Safe Zone
    • One of my favorite-a safe and quiet space for your pups to go in they start to feel overwhelmed . I have a dark and quiet space for my littles. This is a dedicated spot where I keep, dark, quiet and filled with their favorite and comforting things. During the fourth I usually sleep with the blankets I put in their safe zone area and have calming music playing and of course a lavender scent.
  4. EXTRA LOVE!
    • I am HUGE on this one because, I love getting extra cuddles throughout the day. In this situation that can be very high stress for not only your pup for you as well, staying calm and understanding they are just scared and may need a little extra loving and pets can bring them a whole bunch of comfort. They are always there for us in our worst times; it’s our turn to be there for them.

I hope you find something that helps you and your pup get through this Fourth of July safely.
