Cadet Kelly (March 8, 2022)

At the behest of her new stepfather, Joe (Gary Cole), a straight-laced ex-military man hellbent on teaching her discipline, easy-going teenager Kelly Collins (Hilary Duff) enrolls in the George Washington Military School. Kelly struggles to adjust to the demands of her new environment while facing the abuse of her commanding officer, Jennifer Stone (Christy Carlson Romano). Kelly almost drops out — until she falls for a hunky classmate (Shawn Ashmore) and decides to join the drill team.

This was my movie growing up. I absolutely LOVED Hilary Duff’s character Kelly and I will say, I still do. Ironically, I absolutely LOVED all the colors she wore, even though my wardrobe is black, grays and more black. At one point I wanted to join Color Guard to spin the riffle. Cooler story, my mom was in Color Guard when she was in school so she did teach me and I will say my new found passion lasted a day and the bruises it left lasted a month. This movie was a lot of fun to rewatch and I would say check it out if you haven’t already.
