A Ring of Endless Light (August 23, 2002)

During the summer as her grandfather is dying of leukaemia and death seems all around, 15-year-old Vicky finds comfort with the pod of dolphins with which she has been doing research.

To be fair, I don’t fully remember this movie other than I know I watched it when I was younger, BUT I was terrified of water. I always think a shark is going to pop out from everywhere. Ridiculous I know but I can’t help it. This movie is a coming of age story and touches on some tough subject. It is based off of the 1980 novel by Madeleine L’Engle. So of course your ghoul had to read it but again, that will be a Page to Screen post. The only thing I will say is that this is a happier version of the book. Although, to me it is still sad and I definitely teared up in some moments. If you are a fan of the OC and Supernatural/Gilmore Girls you will spot a young Mischa Barton and Jared Padalecki in this film.
