Let’s Decorate!
It is time for the big reveal! This years Christmas theme is A Christmas Fantasy Parade, specifically Goofy’s float.
YES! We have a couple of animatronics for this years porch. Firstly, the one and only Goofy Goof. We ( my mom and I) purchased him from Home Depot, originally we weren’t going to but we fell in love wiht him when we saw him. Our Second animatronic is a cute little elf because come on, elves are so adorable and this one is no exception. Plus we have the snow machine which will be transformed into flour or powdered sugar. I have not decided yet.
The porch will be a one GIANT gingerbread house and Goofy is baking up some delicious gingerbread cookies, but since it is Goofy, things don’t always go as planned. We than have Benny who is Goofy’s helper, but of instead of helping he is over at the hot cocoa bar eating gingerbread and sipping on some hot cocoa. He has a chef hat and an apron and well, he looks adorable.
We have giant gum drops we made out of styrofoam eggs that we shaped and painted. Some frosting that looks like it may have exploded in the standing mixer. This year we also have a scent machine pumping out some delicious cookie scents because Goofy is baking.
The front of the house is a gingerbread door, with frosting and gumdrops and some giant candy canes to make it really pop. The inside of the house is all gingerbread, we set up our cookie/hot cocoa table with cookies ready to be eaten. Yes, edible cookies for anyone that comes over. We set up the area as a counter with some glass jars that you can find “flour” and “sugar” which is M&M’s a rolling pin, cookie cutters and cookie cutters and cookie dough ready to go in the over. Hanging on the wall above the counter, are cookie recipes of the up coming cookies we will be baking to hand out throughout the month.
I am so excited about this years theme, and although I am tired from work, school and life, these are the little things that keep me going.
