Blogmas 2025: Day 8

Albondigas Puppy Edition!

It is chilly and I feel like Belle needs a warm treat, so it is Albondigas time.

Ingredients:

  • Ground Lamb
  • Ground Beef
  • Rice
  • Potatoes
  • Zucchini
  • Canned Pumpkin (Not pumpkin pie filling)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and cut your potatoes, carrots and zucchini into bite size pieces for your pup. Toss them into a pot of boiling water and let them cook. (potatoes and carrots first zucchini last when the others are soft)
  2. In a bowl add your ground beef and rice and mix together. once combined shape the mixture into small meatballs and set aside.
  3. I like to use fresh water so I drain the water and add fresh water to the bowl. Once it starts boiling again, I add in the small meatballs and let them cook. I like to break up the ground lamb and “sprinkle” it in the mixture.
  4. Once the meatballs and the lamb have fully cooked through I add in my canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) and give it a mix
  5. Cover it and let it simmer on low for about 10-15 more minutes.
  6. Enjoy!

This is super simple and you can add anything you want in it that fits your pups needs. I like to add extra meat for my little because she is a carnivore. Of course we did make a bigger batch and handed out to our puppy cousins, neighbors and friends. I hope your littles enjoy!
