Blogmas 2025: Day 9

Holiday TV Show Episodes!

It is time for my 25 favorite Holiday episodes! So let’s get started!

Gilmore Girls

Season 2, Episode 10: “The Bracebridge Dinner”

When a convention booked for the Independence Inn can’t go on because of snow, what’s Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) to do? Turn it into a local’s delight by inviting family members, friends, and other town residents to enjoy an over-the-top feast complete with period costumes and sleigh rides. It’s a classic Stars Hollow celebration, this time decked out with holiday cheer.

Heartstopper

Season 3, Episode 5: “Winter”

Charlie (Joe Locke) is miserable going into Christmas with his family, who ask inappropriate questions about his life. His parents won’t stop fussing over him and his only ally is his sister, Tori (Jenny Walser). Fed up, he flees to Nick’s (Kit Connor) house, where he finds cute puppies, a supportive family, and plenty of time to steal away with Nick for some kissing. But Tori isn’t thrilled about being left alone. After a disastrous Christmas, the friends all set out to make New Year’s Eve a perfect night.

The Umbrella Academy

Season 4, Episode 2: “Jean and Gene”

While the entire fourth season of The Umbrella Academyis set during Christmastime, Episode 2 gets a shout-out here because of what it involves: a full-on, guns-blazing fight — including Santa — at a Christmas fair. Not only do the Brellies get their superpowers back in this episode, but they find out they have new ones. What a holiday gift! A supercharged battle isn’t your traditional Christmas episode fare, but depending on how your holidays are going, there might be something cathartic in watching Santa go rogue. Plus, real-life couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally are there too, as the Gene and Jean of the episode title (and then dance to Cher in the next episode).

Friends

Season 7, Episode 10: The One with the Holiday Armadillo

Ross wants to introduce Ben to Hanukkah. In order to entice Rachel to move back into their refurbished apartment, Phoebe must drive a wedge between Rachel and current roomie Joey.

A discarded magic top hat brings to life the snowman that a group of children made, until a magician, professor Hinkle, wants it back, and the temperature starts to rise. Frosty will melt or no longer be a jolly soul, if the kids cannot get him away from Hinkle and warm weather, so he hops a train to the North Pole with young Karen.

Home Improvement

Season 3, Ep. 12 Twas the Blight Before Christmas

Hannah Montana

Season 3, Ep 5: Killing Me Softly With His Height

While Miley and Lily go Christmas shopping at the mall, they see a cute guy name Connor sitting behind a table and Miley calls dibs on him. When Connor asks Miley out to the holiday carnival, she happily agrees. But there’s just one problem — he’s much shorter than her. Back at home, Robby Ray and Jackson have to do the laundry of their grouchy neighbor Mr. Dontzig so he’ll write Jackson a recommendation letter. Of course, the caveat is that Robby Ray agrees to meet Mr Dontzig’s sister who’s a big fan.

Kickin’ It

Season 2, Ep 24: Oh, Christmas Nuts

Rudy volunteers Jack, Jerry, and Milton to work at Santa’s village so they can learn about the spirit of Christmas. Their deeds turn awry when they are accused of stealing toys, resulting in them being banned from the mall. They try to track down as much evidence as they can to prove they didn’t commit the crime. The gang battles the Mall Santa and his counterfeit elves in an epic karate fight.

Shake It Up

Season 2 Ep. 11: Jingle It up

We all fall victim to last minute Christmas shopping. This is the same case for CeCe as she has yet to buy her mom a present. When CeCe goes to the mall, she ends up buying herself a purse and has no money left for her mom’s gift. On the other hand, Rocky feels it’s her duty to make a young boy’s Christmas wish come true and the surprise reveal shocks viewers. Additionally, Deuce reluctantly invites his girlfriend Dina to join his family’s Christmas caroling crew.

That’s So Raven

Season 1, Ep.19: Escape Clause

This cozy, nostalgic episode shows Raven opening her Christmas present — an amazing necklace — early. Amazed by its beauty, she can’t wait to show it off at school. Unfortunately, it breaks. Now Raven must ditch not only her favorite family Christmas traditions, but school as well, to fix her necklace. The episode ends with a heartfelt message by the cast.

The Suite Life of Zach and Cody

Season 1, Ep 21: Christmas At The Tipton

When a huge snow storm cancels everyone’s Christmas plans, they are forced to stay at The Tipton Hotel — that includes a couple expecting a baby. With Zack and Cody’s father Kurt stuck staying with their mom, Cody gets the idea that they are getting remarried. His raised hopes get crushed when they tell him they are just getting along. Meanwhile, Maddie makes sure London picks out her name in a bowl for a Secret Santa gift exchange, hoping she’ll get an expensive present. Although disappointments surround the characters, there’s one thing that brings them together — the new baby born on the elevator!

Lizzie McGuire

Season 1, Ep.7: Here Comes Aaron Carter

The sensational Aaron Carter is coming into town to shoot his new video. Lizzie and Miranda are excited and enlist Gordo to help track down Aaron’s location in hopes to meet him. When they get to the set, Matt is let in while the rest are left to their failed attempts of sneaking in. Finally, Aaron’s manager spots Lizzie who begs her to let one of them meet Aaron and she agrees. The twist is that when Lizzie leaves behind a tape recorder, she runs into Aaron who lays a kiss on her and they all become extras in the video.

K.C. Undercover

Season 2, Ep. 24: Holly Holly Not So Jolly

The Cooper family is decorating the house for Christmas while K.C. is in a rut. When she visits the organization’s therapist, she begins to reflect on her past disguises and missions and reveals she may have an identity crisis. At the end, she gains her Christmas spirit back.

Austin and Alley

Season 3, Ep. 5: Mix-Ups and Mistletoes

Personally, this episode can be iconic solely for the amount of Christmas decorations included throughout the show. I love the wholesomeness of gift giving within the show, and the plot line of “giving back to those who aren’t as lucky as we are.” The show deals with several different mishaps, and just like many other episodes in this series, they come together for a huge musical number in the end. If you love Ross Lynch as much as I do, and will use any excuse to watch something he’s apart of, this is perfect.

The Proud Family

Season 1: Episode 11 Seven Days of Kwanzaa

The Proud Family is taught an important lesson about the true meaning of Christmas and Kwanzaa by a homeless family. Guest Stars: Vivica A. Fox as Margaret, Samuel L. Jackson as Joseph, Raven-Symoné as Stephanie, and Pat Crawford Brown as Agnus.

This is the primary Christmas episode that focuses on the Matthews family hosting Shawn and Maya for the holidays, and it also features guest appearances from Cory’s former Boy Meets World co-stars.

Boy Meets World

Season 1, Ep. 10: Santa’s Little Helper

The first Christmas episode tackles a serious issue when Shawn’s dad is laid off during the holiday season.

Supernatural

Seaon 3, Ep.8: A Very Supernatural Christmas

As Sam and Dean investigate murders where victims have been pulled up through the chimney, Sam realises that they are dealing with a type of anti-Santa, a demon with roots in pagan lore.

So many holiday episodes in so little time, but these are the ones that stood out to me this year. I started to rewatch them in November and had to make a list about them to share my holiday joy. What are your favorite holiday episodes?
