Self Care!

What is self care?

  • the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health.
  • the deliberate practice of taking actions to support your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, promoting overall well-being and resilience against stress and burnout.

Most of us forget that in order to help other people, we need to help ourselves first. Unfortunately, in this society, we tend to give our all to others and not enough attention and love to ourselves. That changes today! Today, we are going to take care of ourselves and give ourselves extra time and love. You can stay in bed a bit longer, go for a walk, take a bath or an extra long shower. Treat yourself to an expensive dinner, buy some clothes, but also don’t forget to set boundaries for yourself.

A self care day is all about recharging physically and mentally. Doing the things that bring you joy and peace. So each individual self care day will look different from others. For me it is going fo a walk either listening to a book or music. I take deep breathes and try to focus on all the positive aspects in my life, such as I have the cutest and best pup, a job, a roof over my head, and more. I know it is hard to stay thankful and positive when you feel like things are not going your way but remembering the smallest wins can always help you turn your day around.
