Love Yourself 2026: Day 17

Journaling!

I know I picked up journaling in 2020 and well I became obsessed. Of course like anything I do, I did fall out of it at points but I did recruit my mom a year ago and she does it every night. Journaling for mental health can reduce stress, manage anxiety and boost your mood. Sometimes, you have things you want to get off of your chest and journaling is a great way to do so. It is a non-judgmental safe place where you can write down anything and everything you want. With reducing anxiety and reducing stress is also enhances problem solving. Overall its great and works if it is for you.

My mom and I journal two different ways. She buys a notebook and every night she writes down her thoughts. Not a lot, but she always writes something. This works for her and she enjoys and looks forward to writing in her journal. As for me, I really enjoy drawing. So my spreads are very themed to what I am feeling. There are drawings all over the pages and a bit of words. This usually takes me about an hour and sometimes it feels more like a chore. Although, I do feel better after writing my thoughts down, I have learned that I could make things a lot more simpler for myself if I stop doodling and doing an elaborate spread.

Journaling might be for you, you never know until you try. You might like it and you might not. It also might work for you and it might not. Everyone is different and finding something that works for you is a game of trial and error. I do hope you enjoy journaling or I hope you find that thing that works for you!
