Percy Jackson!
This week is all about mythicalogical/folklore creatures and the movie had to be Percy Jackson! We started off March Monsters with Percy Jackson, I thought it was fitting that the first movie we watch would also be Percy Jackson.

Fun Facts: Medusa
A famous figure from Greek mythology, known as a Gorgon with live snakes for hair whose gaze turned people to stone. Medusa has two sister Stheno and Euryale, but she was the only one who was mortal. She was cursed by Goddess Athena, and according to Ovid’s Metamorphoses says she was once a beautiful woman with lovely hair, cursed after the sea god Poseidon (Neptune) violated or seduced Medusa in Athena’s temple. As modern day views of Medusa say that she is often interpreted as a tragic or feminist figure, representing a victim of assault and divine injustice, rather than just a monster.
