It’s officially summer time and normally summer means heat. Normally, that’s when dog owners like to go walking. Did you know that your dogs paw pads and nose can get sunburned.

Puppy Sunscreen:

Epi-Pet Sun Protector Spray- $16 on Amazon

• This is the only sunscreen for dogs on the market that’s FDA-compliant.

Petkin Doggy Sunstick- $7.75 on Amazon

• This has SPF-15 so don’t use it as a primary sun protector.

My Dog Nose It! Sun Protection Balm- $12.95 on Amazon

• This one does not have SPF-15 but it can be use on the pups rough nose and cracked paw pads.

Warren London Sunscreen- $11.99 on Amazon

• This is a spray on sunscreen that contains aloe vera that will keep their skin soothed and moisturized.

Before going on a walk in the sun, make sure that the pavements are cool enough for your pups to walk on. If you are unsure if the pavement is ok, place the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds if you can keep it their comfortably it’s ok to walk, if you can’t then it’s a no go for a walk.
