The water bowl is the third most contaminated item in the household. Bacteria can build up over time, which could cause sickness or diseases if you don’t properly wash your pups water bowl. Stainless steel dog bowls harbor fewer bacteria, ceramic and plastic accumulate the bacteria more quickly. Ceramic Bowls tend to have more harmful bacterias like E.coli and MRSA.
Preventing bacteria build-up, wash the bowl at least once a day with HOT water and soap and try to have at least two bowls so you can rotate them. Same with the food bowl and the food scooper wash at least once a day with hot water and soap to prevent any bacterial build-up.
