The San Francisco Columbarium and Funeral Home is owned and operated by Dignity Memorial at One Loraine Court, near Stanyan and Anza Street. It has been around since 1897 and one of the oldest in the Bay Area. In the late 1920s, many of the cemetery residents have been exhumed and moved to the town of Colma. Rumor has it; Some of the residents of the Columbarium still roam its halls. Guests have claimed to have been touched by an unseen force. When they turn around, no one is there. Security guards and others visiting their loved ones have claimed to see a little girl walking around the Neptune Society Columbarium’s circular levels. Others have reported hearing footsteps accompanied by childish giggling around there as well. It’s speculations that the little girl might be a victim of the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco.
