Blogtober 2021: Day 16

Midnight Margaritas!

It is a great day to bring out the Midnight Margaritas. The cousins and I stayed up until midnight to watch Practical Magic. As they did, we made midnight margaritas. Since there are a couple of us, who don’t drink, we made both!

Margarita:

  • 1 1/2 oz Tequila
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • Salt
  • Ice
  • Lime

*Make sure to drink responsibly and are the legal age!

Mocktail Margarita:

  • 2 c limeade
  • 3/4 c orange juice
  • 1/4 c simple syrup
  • 1/2 c club soda
  • Sugar and Salt for the rim
  • Lime
  • Ice

If you have ever watched the movie, you know when they are making the margaritas, they say a spell, so that’s what we did because it’s October you have to!

Spell:

Eye of newt, toe of frog

Wing of bat, tongue of dog

Adders fork and blind worms sting.

Barbados lime is just the thing.

Fragias salt, like a sailors stubble

Flip the switch, and let the cauldron bubble.

Now to make the drinks taste even better, you have to dance around and sing on top of your lungs. We also made snacks because a good movie night is never complete without them. We had some moon spell cookies, witch hat calzones, and cheesy breadstick bones to go with our spooktacular theme.

Happy Hauntings!
