Obsessed: Dramas

J-Hope in the Box

Okay, so this technically isn’t a drama BUT I am 100% obsessed with J-Hope documentary. I think I have watched it at least five times. twice on my own and three times with friends.

J-Hope makes waves as the first Korean musician to headline the main stage of the world’s largest musical festival, “lollapalooza,” in Chicago. After huge success with world-renowned group BTS, their main dancer and rapper debuts his first official solo album. Challenged by anxiety about his identity as a solo artist, j-hope takes a leap of faith to greet the world as himself.

For 200 days, the daily life of artist j-hope is captures. This documentary follows him from production of solo album “Jack in the Box” all the way to his debut on the stage of “Lallapalooza.”

The documentary is 1h 25m long and honestly I want MORE! I feel like j-hope wears his heart on his sleeve and it really comes through even more in the documentary. J-Hope has not only done a lot of music with BTS but has an EP Hope World that was released in 2018, Jack in the Box which was released July 15, 2022 (AMAZING), and three singles, Blue Side (outro) in 2018, Chicken Noodle Soup Ft. Becky G in 2019, and his most recent single is On The Street ft. J.Cole. I truly don’t think you have to be a fan of BTS and or their work to appreciate this documentary. It is really cool to see the behind the scenes work that goes into a performance and the things that artist think about before going on stage.

I hope you at least give it a chance and enjoy it you do!
