Namjooning Readathon 2023: Day 5

Let’s Crochet!

If you are Army, you know about the purple whale in the BTS song Whalien 52. If not, Whalien 52 is a song about the loneliest whale in the world, the 52-hertz whale. Other whales are unable to hear it because of it’s unusually high frequency. The song is a perfect metaphor for the loneliness one feels growing up, never being understood or heard. It is such a great song and if you have never heard it, I would suggest checking it out.

Now that I rambled on, it is time to make some purple whales! I think they are so adorable and simple to make so I wanted to make some to pass out to others so they know they are not alone.

Materials:

I found a really simple whale pattern, it is small so I feel like I am actually making something. I didn’t think that crocheting would relax me but it was quite relaxing. I put on an audio book and listened while I crocheted and when I was done I put on some music.

Playlist:

I was really in the crocheting zone with this playlist and made about thirteen purple whales. I think I could have made more but I was jamming out and would lose count and or have a dance beak. Over all I am excited to make more so if you are at the BT21 store on Sunday keep an eye out for my cousins and I we will be passing them to any Army who would like one.
