Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats
I love home made rice Krispie treats so I knew I had to put a Halloween twist on them.
Ingredients:
- Rice Krispie Crereal
- Butter
- Mini Marshmallows
- Red food coloring
- Yellow food coloring
- White food coloring (optional)
Directions:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat
- Add the marshmallows and stir into the butter until completed melted
- Transfer about half the marshmallow mixture to a large mixing bowl
- Add 10 drops of yellow food coloring and mix well
- Add 3 cups of cereal and mix well
- Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into a ring around the outer edge of the pan
- Transfer most of the remaining marshmallow mixture to a large mixing bowl and add about 10 drops of yellow and 6 drops of red food coloring and mix well
- Add 2 1/2 cups cereal and mix well
- Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into a ring around the outer edge of the pan leaving the middle empty
- Add 1 c of cereal to the remaining marshmallow mixture
- Butter your hands or use wax paper to press the mixture firmly into a ring around the outer edge of the pan leaving the middle empty
- Allow to cool completely
- Lift out the entire treat and cut into triangular pieces
I always like to add extra marshmallows but I will say that it makes the Rice Krispies a lot softer and harder to move. I like to put these in bags and hand them out to the family and neighbors.
