What is a Monchhichi?
A Monchhichi is a “sweet little monkey.” The name combines the words Mon “mine” in French and Chhichi which is the Japanese onomatopoeic noise a pacifier makes when a child sucks on it.
Monchhichi are a line of Japanese stuffed monkey toys by Sekiguchi Corporation, first released in 1974. They were later licensed by Mattel in the United States until 1985, and later distributed worldwide directly by Sekiguchi.
In 2004 Monchhichi Babies aka Bebichhichi’s were created.

These adorable little creatures do have their own TV shows that made it’s debut in the United States September 10, 1983.
Monchhichi’s not only have the CUTEST song ever but they, themselves are super adorable. My mom bought me my first Monchhichi when I was a kid, sadly, I no longer have my original Monchhichi. Of course she wouldn’t be the best mom ever if she didn’t find another one and purchase it for me, and basically that picked up my addiction to them again and since I make money I have purchased a couple of them for not only myself BUT for her as well.
