Puppy Potato Pumpkin Soup
One of my favorite things to eat is my Grandmas Potato Soup. I think this is just one of the most comforting foods to eat during cozy season. So, I had to make a puppy version because I think my pups would appreciate such a cozy tummy warming soup to eat during fall.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes
- Ground Turkey (or chicken)
- Pumpkin Puree
- Bone Broth Powder (for dogs)
As you can tell it is very simple because my little is allergic to EVERYTHING. I use ground turkey and not chicken because she is allergic to chicken, she is also sensitive to carrots so I avoid that as well. Instead of tomatoes I add pumpkin puree.
Directions:
- Peel, cut and wash the potatoes into bite size pieces.
- Place them in boiling water and let them cook.
- In another pot add in some water, pumpkin puree and bone broth (however much it says for your pup). Give it a quick stir and bring to a simmer.
- In a pan cook your ground turkey with a tiny bit of coconut oil. Once fully cooked add it to the pot with the pumpkin puree and bone broth.
- Once potatoes have soften to your liking ( I cook them until them pretty much fall apart) add them to your other pot.
- Give it a quick stir and let it cool before serving to your pup.
I love making things for the pups and I always make sure to take note of which pup likes what or has an upset tummy after. So far, all the pups enjoy this dish a lot and I am truly happy about it. We share this dish because honestly, this is a lot for one pup to eat, so we package it up in a jar and write out the ingredients and attach it with to a string on the jar and pass it out to all our puppy cousins, friends and neighbors.
Do you make anything special for your furry friends?
