Cinnamon Roll-Overs Dog Treats
We love cinnamon rolls in this household, and Belle is no exception. Today, we are making puppy-friendly cinnamon. I got this recipe from Ice Creamin on Pinterest. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
Main
- 2 C Flour
- 1 Tsp baking flour
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 C Water
- 1 L Egg
- 1/4 C Coconut Oil
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
Substitutions
- Oat/Rice Flour
- Olive Oil
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Mix the dry ingredients. In a big bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Just stir until combined.
- In a smaller bowl, mix the water, egg, and oil. Once smooth, pour this into your dry mix. Stir gently until you’ve got a soft, workable dough.
- Roll out the dough. Sprinkle a little flour on your countertop and roll the dough into a rectangle, about 9×12 inches and 1/4-inch thick.
- Filling! Drizzle honey evenly over the surface of your dough. Sprinkle on cinnamon.
- Roll and slice. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Seal the edge by pinching it. Use a slightly wet knife (or pizza cutter) to slice the long into 1/2 inch rounds.
- Place the slices cut-side down on the prepped baking sheet. Pop them in the oven for 15 minutes. Peak around the 12-minute mark to make sure they are not overbaking. They should be firl and golden brown when done.
- Let them cool completely before handing them to your pup!
They will last for 5 days in an airtight container at room temperature or for 2 weeks in the fridge. If you plan on freezing them, they will stay fresh for up to 3 months. I hope your pups enjoy them as much as mine, and you know we had to share some with the cousins and neighbors! We placed them in a bag, with the recipe attached, and handed them out.
Cozy Cuddles!
