Agust D Readathon 2026: Day 20

Bellie Day!

Belle is my little pupper ghoulie and she is my world! Last month however, I took her in for her regular check up and blood work and they found that she has kidney disease. This shattered me, because even though she is 14 years old I don’t like to think of her in pain, discomfort or even leaving me.

I have decided that no matter the outcome I will be giving her the BEST rest of her life, no matter how long we have with her every day will literally be a new adventure with her. Her entire diet has changed because unfortunately her kidney’s are giving off a toxin making things taste and smell a bit differently. Thankfully she is still very much interested in eating and she still has a lot of energy. We go in twice a week for her to get fluid and yes, I can do it myself at home, but I don’t want to be a the bad guy. I absolutely love her and even though it is not her favorite time there her vets are the BEST. They give her lots of love, kisses and cuddles after the injection.

Like I said, every day is a new adventure but we know we walk before and go to the beach after her appointment. Spending time with her is my favorite part of the day and I know I am cherishing her even more than before.
