My first ever market is COMPLETE!!
Ghouls! I can’t believe I completed my first market. It ended at 2 and I am completely in a daze or heat exhaustion? We will soon find out. Let’s start at the beginning shall we?
I was market prepping until 3 am and got up at 7 am to get ready so I can be at the middle school by 9 am. It worked out well. Honestly, we had a GREAT spot. (My aunt and I shared a table) I was able to pull up to our spot with no problem unload and moved the car all within a couple of steps. WE WERE SPOILED! and I was so thankful.
Once we got the tent up, we got to work filling the table and writing down princes for everything. It was so much fun and I think we did a great job with displaying everything especially since it was our first time. Everything came together nicely. but by the time we were putting our final touches on the table it was 9 am and we had our first customer. We sold a chicken that my mom had made. Right after that our second customer came and purchased Catzilla and Jin. From there, we had a bunch of people at our table and the time went by so fast that I didn’t get a chance to sit or walk around. I was so thankful because it was so HOT!!
Our family and friends did come out to support us which was so sweet of them, they even made purchases from us, we took a lot of pictures and my little cousin was the absolute best because she was my walking calculator and advertiser. She grabbed bags, she interacted and she was having a blast. I was completely thankful for her and her energy. Overall I really enjoyed my first market. The coordinators were super nice, and organized. They even told us we could bring another table for our booth, which was super sweet!
Once the event ended, it was a quick take down and loading process, because once again, we were able to bring the car back to the same spot and get everything loaded and ready to go within a half an hour. Although, it was hot, it was such a nice experience and I am so happy this was the experience I had as my first market. I know not every market will be like this and I won’t always have the same experience, but I am so thankful that this was my first.
