The Jook-off: A Cook-off for Pups and People.

Come one come all for the Mutville Jook-off Sunday October 25 from 11 am – 1 pm at 750 Florida Street, San Francisco, Ca, 94110. This is a fundraiser benefiting vets in vans and Asian Women’s Shelter. Tickets are available!

This comfort food meets comfort dogs. Jook – the ride porridge known across Asian communities as congee, cháo, lugaw, or juk. It’s wha you make when someones sick, but its just as often what you make for a Sunday morning, a family gathering or just because.

The cook-off has a twist. The ‘chefs’ arent professional cooks. They are two people leading the organization behind this event. Orchid Pusey, Executive Director of Asian Women’s Shelter and Dr. Tracy Huang, founder and chied medical officer of vets in vans. Each will bring their own pot of jook and you get to help whose is the best.

Since it is a pup event, there will be jook for the humans and the pups. There will also be fun activities, so make sure to bring your pup, bring your appetite and spend an hour supporting two organizations working, in very different ways to make sure everyone has access to the care they need.

Happy Hauntings!
