Cozyathon 2024: Day 11

Amigurumi Turkey!

We will be making some adorable little turkeys. I think they are pretty simple but mine always turn out a bit different each time I make them. Let’s get started!

What You Will Need:

  • 4mm Crochet Hook
  • Brown Yarn
  • Yellow Yarn
  • Orange Yarn
  • Red Yarn
  • 9mm Safety Eyes
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch Markers (different colors)
  • MR – Magic Ring
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • Inc – Increase
  • Dec – Decrease
  • FLO – Front Loop Only
  • StT- Stitch
  • CH -Chain
  • SlSt – Slip Stitch
  • Hdc – Half Double Crochet
  • DC – Double Crochet
  • TRC – Triple Crochet

Pattern:

Make sure to leave extra yarn to sew the parts to the body.

Body – Brown Yarn

  1. MR – Sc 6 (6)
  2. Inc all around (12)
  3. Inc, Sc, all around (18)
  4. Inc, Sc 2 all around (24)
  5. Inc, Sc 3 all around (30)
  6. Inc, Sc 4 all around (36)
  7. Sc all around (36)
  8. Sc all around (36)
  9. Sc in the next 15, Sc in the st and add a stitch marker to the Sc just made. (this will indicate the eyes)
  10. Sc all around (36)
  11. Sc all around (36)
  12. Inc, Sc 5 all around (42)
  13. Sc all around (42)
    • Add eyes
  14. Dec, Sc 5 all around (36)
  15. Dec, Sc 4 all around (30)
  16. Dec, Sc 3 all around (24)
  17. Dec, Sc 2 all around (18)
  18. In FLO, Inc, Sc 2 all around (24)
  19. In both loops, Inc, Sc 3 all around (30)
    • Start stuffing
  20. Sc all around (30)
  21. Sc all around (30)
  22. Inc, Sc 4 all around (36)
  23. Inc, Sc 5 all around (42)
  24. Sc all around (42)
  25. Sc all around (42)

    • Add more stuffing

Finish off and add any additional stuffing. Sew close.

Beak – Yellow Yarn

  1. MR – Sc 6 (6)
  2. Sc all around (6)
  3. Inc, Sc all around (9)
  4. Sc, all around (9)

Finish off and pin to the head in between the eyes.

Wattle – Red yarn

  1. Ch 6. Sc 3 times in the 2nd Ch from the hook. Sc in the next 2 st, SlSt in last 2 St (7)

Finish off and pin to the head next to the beak.

Wings – Brown Yarn (2x)

  1. MR – Sc 6 (6)
  2. Sc all around (6)
  3. Inc, Sc all around (9)
  4. Sc all around (9)
  5. Inc, Sc 2 all around (12)
  6. Sc all around (12)

Finish off and pin to the sides of his body right under his head.

Feathers – Yellow, Red, Orange Yarn (5x)

2 in Red, 2 in Yellow, 1 in Orange

  1. Ch 17.
    • Sc in 2nd Ch from hook.
    • Sc in the next St
    • Hdc in next 3 St.
    • Dc in next 4 st
    • Trc in next 6 st
    • Trc 4 times in next st
      • now you should be on the other side of the Ch
    • Trc in the next 6 st
    • Dc in next 4 st
    • Hdc in the next 3 st
    • Sc in the next 2 st.

Finish off and leaving some extra yarn to sew

Tail – Brown

  1. Ch. 7
    • Dc 3 times in 2nd Ch from hook
    • SlSt in next St
    • Dc 3 times in next St
    • SlSt in next St 2 times

Finish off and pin and pin on the bottom of all the feathers

Feet – Yellow (2x)

  1. MR – Sc 6 (6)
  2. SlSt in the next 2 St
    • Dc 2 times in same St
    • Slst in same St 3 times
    • SlSt in last St

Finish off and pin in place in the front of the body. I like to place mine, In between the eyes and wings.

Sewing!

  • Sew all the parts to the body.

I hope you had as much fun as I did making these cute little Turkey’s. I think they are so adorable and if you wanted to, you can even make them into a keychain by adding a jump ring and a clip.
