Life’s Ruff #1

It has been a whirlwind of emotions these last couple of weeks. My littles Tarzan and Belle have gotten sick. I noticed when Belle would eat, her neck and stomach would swell up while Tarzan was very lethargic. Immediately I took them both to the vet, and they suggested Belle get an Xray. They ran a lot of tests on both the littles, and thankfully all of their tests came out perfectly healthy, and they saw nothing wrong with them. When it happened again, I called their vet and took them straight in. They suggested taking them off of their food and cook for them.

It has been a month of a lot of research and pretty much trial and error on the foods they are sensitive too. We knew Belle is allergic to chicken, but we noticed she has a sensitivity to pineapples and carrots, so we have taken them out of their diets. Since the change, neither has had an episode, and they both look, feel, and are doing fantastic.

I am starting the Lifes Ruff series because other than their vets; I found there was not a lot of information on home-cooked meals. If you have any questions or concerns, please talk to your vet first, because I am not a vet or nutritionist. But if you have any questions about my littles and I’s experience so far, I am more than happy to answer them!
