Blogmas 2022: Day 29

New Years Eve Puppy Tips

New Years is just like the 4th of July. There are going to be a lot of fireworks going off and it could get very loud and scary for your pup. So here are some tips to help you and your pup get through the New Year.

Physical Activity:

Make sure your pup has a lot of physical activity so they can be more relaxed during the fireworks or activities you may have planned. Personally I like to have two days dedicated to them.

Safe Space:

Creating a space just for your pup is great. It could be their kennel or a place in a room. Usually, a smaller space will help them feel more secure.

Dangerous Substance:

Keep dangerous substances such as chocolate, alcohol, chemicals etc. away and out of reach of your pups. No one wants to start off the New Year in the emergency room.

Occupied:

Keeping your pup occupied will help keep them out of trouble. So a new toy or a toy that they have to use their brains to get food out will help keep them busy and distracted.

Quality Time:

Don’t forget about quality time. You are your pups entire world and although they might not understand what is going on you can bring a lot of comfort to them just by being with them.

Closed and Secure:

If you plan on having a party at your house make sure the doors are closed or your pup is in a secure backyard/ environment so they don’t escape. Keep an eye on them the entire time or make sure they have a tracking device on them incase they escape.

I hope that these tips help and you have a safe and fun New Years!
